Pink Posies

Hello people! What’s new with you? I’ve been busy with this, that and the other…no big happenings, but always on the go. You know what I mean?
When I was out and about last week, I picked up a few more pink tulips. I’m not sure of the variety, but I loved that they were petite and ruffled…a little different than the ones I usually see. I applied a texture to these photos since I didn’t really love the way they turned out. I’m not sure if it helped, but sometimes you just have to work with what you got, ya know?!

Speaking of working with what you’ve got, I’ve been cleaning and purging and arranging my kitchen.I figured I’d paint it and maybe brighten it up a little. I’m also hoping that the Mister will finally see the light and paint the cabinets for me. He likes that look too, but knows that if we paint all the woodwork in that room it would be a big domino effect and we’d have to continue on with everything else…on that level of our house anyway.
All in all, it would be lots of work. I’m thinking it might just be easier to move…to someplace warm would be even better πŸ˜‰

Well, I have to run to the store before my kids get home…just thought I’d say hello. Hope you’re having a wonderful week!
Chat later…

Oh, Tricia…when I saw your blog name pop up in my sidebar, I just knew I would be in for a big visual treat, and I wasn't disappointed! Fabulous combo of the pink and turquoise (are those Anthropologie cups? Kim Klassen has one that looks very similar)…..So beautiful, as always.

Gorgeous. Love the soft colours and tones. And I understand the hesitations about the painting. Starting something like that indeed tends to have a snowball effect. Which can be fun, but overwhelming as well. If you do decide to remodel everything, I would love to follow your process. That must turn out beautiful!

Your blue cups are so pretty. And the tulips too. I understand your painting dilemma. I want to paint the walls in my kitchen which would mean I need to paint the dining room and then the entryway and that's just too much painting for me (because my husband hates to paint, so it's just me and my paint brush).

Such beautiful photographs, Tricia, and yes, I too would love to be somewhere warmer!

It's such a coincidence to read this, as today I was deciding what need to be done here as soon as the semester ends for me. I was only considering projects where one thing would not necessarily lead to many others, but it's a tough thing to do, for sure.

    Have a wonderful evening! xo.

I like those kinds of tulips better than the traditional tightly cupped varieties, too. Thanks for the visual treat.

One possible way to deal with your kitchen dilemma is to paint only the top or only the bottom cabinets. Two color kitchen cabinetry is a new trend. We just painted our bottom cabinets a medium grey and left the top ones white. It looks fresher, newer, more contemporary, even a little edgy. Here's a link to my Pinterest board for bi-color kitchen cabinets:

I thought you already lived in a warm climate.

Your pictures are so pretty…I love the pink tulips with the blue dishes.

I think you should paint, it's hard to find a man agreeable to paint wood! I know! I wouldn't worry about a domino effect unless the kitchen is open to another room, then all you have to worry about is having some united pops of color. I'm doing the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bath all at once, but just little changes in each room to keep them cohesive since we painted. It keeps you busy but it's fun work! Go for it!

    XO,
    Jane

    Hi Tricia,

So very beautiful! I think the texture works very well. Your styling and photos have made these pretty but simple tulips look as luscious as roses or peonies. And the blue dish is a perfect accent.( I think the tulips might be Angelique.)

Lovely to hear from you and I wish you a great rest of the week. xoxo

Thanks for sharing a bit of spring with your gorgeous photos! We had our first warm day today and I see spots of grass in our yard. It's where the steam line runs underground, but who cares?! Green is good.

Tricia, I have a solution for you! Move to Santa Barbara and our girls can play while we take pretty pictures and decorate our homes with whites and have tea parties!

So, I am truncating my posts now. I had to when I added a Ziplist plug-in for my recipes to be saved to the "recipe box". I'm not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand, more posts can be seen on the first page so readers can choose what they want to read. On the other hand, I worry that people will miss the pale "continue reading this post" link and think the post is done when it's only just begun! So I don't know. Another plus is that you get more page views when truncating, although you don't have ads so it may not matter for you. Sorry about the site copying yours… that is such a bummer. Let me know if I can help get that site to take down your stuff.
