    Fall Flowers

    10/30/2020 · by Tricia

A flower arrangement containing China Asters, Cosmos, Strawflowers and Dill.

Hi, everyone! Hope you’re all having a good week!

I thought I’d share a few fall floral photos today. That seems a little bit like a tongue-twister, doesn’t it? A few fall floral photos? Anyway, I grew a medley of different flowers this year, but for whatever reason, never ended up taking very many pictures of them.

Cosmos growing in a raised garden bed.

My husband built three raised flower beds for me this summer, but I can already see that it wasn’t enough.  I think I planted three or four different varieties of Cosmos and they took up an entire bed since they get so huge!

The other two beds had Stock, Strawflowers, Honeywort, and a variety of China Asters. Everything bloomed pretty late into the season since I was a little tardy in transplanting them. Surprisingly, the Strawflowers, Honeywort, and Stock survived, even after we had gotten some frost.  I’ve already started making a mental list of what flowers I want to plant again, as well as what I should add next year. I’ll share more about my plans as spring draws near and after I decide what seeds I’m going to order. Do you have any flower varieties that you love and plant year after year? I’m always open to suggestions!

As soon as the holidays are over, I’m pretty much ready for spring! Can you believe that November is right around the corner?! I’m really looking forward to Christmas and all the decorating and festivities. How about you?

    xo

I don’t really see that happening on schedule this year since even though the calendar says spring, it sure doesn’t feel like it!
