    Hello, My Pretty…

    03/27/2012 · by Tricia

Pink pastel ranunculus flowers with blue turquoise cups.
Hello everyone. Well, if you’ve had a yearning to see some pretty pastel cups and rosy pink flowers, then today is your day, since that what I have cookin’.

Last week I made a stop at one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie, where I spied these turquoise beauties. They have a stamped pattern and a crazed, crackly finish and, let’s just say, they called out my name.  Can’t you just see yourself sipping a tasty drink from one of these?  Me too…along with something delicious to nibble on, of course.
Pink pastel ranunculus flowers with blue turquoise cups.
Since my mind spends a lot of time focusing on photography, props and the like, I knew these cups would be perfect for some photos. I paired them with some ranunculus, which is one of my favorite springtime flowers.

As I started styling everything, the petals began to fall from some of the blooms.  I often find that when I just let things evolve naturally with my photos things seem to turn out better than when I give it too much thought. Do you find that to be the case for you too?
Pink pastel ranunculus flowers with blue turquoise cups.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who left their condolences on the passing of my grandpa.  Your kind and thoughtful words mean so much to me. I’ve gotten a little behind in my visiting, but I hope to be around soon.

I hope you’re all having a good week thus far.

    xo  Tricia

Ranunculus are my favorite flower, and paired with the Anthropologie cups make for a beautiful display. So nice to see, now that our weather has turned cold again!

We had our flower order ready to go for our youngest daughter's October wedding with orange Ranunculus being the star of the show. THEN we were told the cost would be astronomical because the flowers were "out of season". In the end, we had to settle for orange tea roses with bright green berries. Sigh.

Lovely photos, Tricia – the soft blue of the cups is so spring-like and darling with the ranunculus. And yes, it's often better to not manipulate the props too much – in the end it makes a more natural and beautiful composition.

And the photos you created on your last post as a tribute to your Grandfather are among your very best, I think. So full of emotion.

Happy spring and looking forward to more of your blossom photos!

Oh my everything about these photos are beautiful! Loving the new cups you found and those are my favorite flowers too! They just need a prettier name. It just doesn't fit their beauty. You should think about selling copies of those photos. They would make lovely notecards 😉

So beautiful, I love the colour and design of your cups. Together with the Ranunculus, gorgeous!
