    Hello Spring!

    03/31/2015 · by Tricia

Purple hyacinth tied with twine on a white table
Hey there!  Long time, no see!  I hope you’ve all been well.
I’m feeling so happy that spring has finally arrived.  I love this time of year. It brings to mind thoughts of renewal and fresh starts and because of that, I figured it would be an appropriate time to pop in and see if I still remembered how to work my blog. A new beginning, of sorts.

Thank you to those of you who have inquired as to my whereabouts. Everything has been okay with me, but there have been a few things in my life that have made me pause and reflect a bit…holding those I love a little bit closer and trying to look at things with a different perspective. To do that, I needed to pare things down, I suppose.

Anyway, I’ve still been taking pictures and loving every moment of it. It seems like there is so much to learn and I just can’t make it sink into my head quickly enough!

This hyacinth photo is just one in a series that I took recently. In my world, Spring also means that there’s going to be lots of flowers to photograph. If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen this photo. I do post there on a somewhat regular basis since it’s much faster than blogging. My user name is arosynote if you’d like to visit.

Otherwise, I will hopefully see you again here soon.

    xo

Tricia, I'm happy to see you here. Your images have inspired me ever since I started blogging – and I am always left speechless … I've been getting my "rosy note" fix on IG so that helps 🙂 but still, I'm glad to hear you are OK.

As always, there is so much wonderful light in your photos…and color! I am following you in IG, of course… Your vignettes with the hyacinths are so pretty! I didn't realize there were so many different varieties of hyacinths. I planted two varieties last fall, but the container didn't drain adequately. I'll try again this fall. Meanwhile, I purchased two biodegradable containers of beautiful hyacinths, already budded out. Instant gratification.

Hi Dee! Most of the pitchers that I have are old ironstone pieces that I found on ebay or at antique stores. Hope that helps 🙂

Anyway, nothing too exciting to report over here. I’m currently caulking the woodwork In our basement so that we can paint it all like our upstairs. I’m pretty excited about that! I love change. 😊

There’s always next year, right?! Hope you all have a happy weekend!

If you’re wondering what flowers are in this bouquet, I did a blog post and listed them there. 💗

If I had a list of favorite flowers, peonies would probably be right at the top...followed closely by lilacs and hydrangeas. 😊 Do you have a favorite?

It’s a way of thinking that fits with my minimalist sensibilities as well. Since I gravitate towards old things more than new, it sometimes feels as if it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack to discover that something that seems just right!
