Hello, friends. Well, here it is September already. Can you believe it? It seems like summer went by in the blink of an eye and I barely got a chance to take it all in.
I did enjoy a few nice moments here and there though. Remember when I went to the lake a few weeks ago to freshen things up and get the place all sparkly clean? Well, while I was there, I managed to slip away from my chores, take a few photos and enjoy some of the last remaining days of summer and its wonderful weather.
I love the location of our cabin. It’s about four miles down a long, winding tree-covered road. The setting is almost picture-perfect.
My daughter loves the lake. She’d hike up her skirt, wade in the water and look for fish…determined that she was going to catch one with her hands. Thinking that might not work, she begged and begged me to get out her fishing pole so she could go fishing. According to her, we could use leeches, which, by the way, are “super cute and you can cut them up.” Ummm, yeah. That argument didn’t really sway me in her direction. I stick with butterflies.

Oh, by the way, a quick little cabin cleaning report…yep, the tub was orange. Nice. It was dreamy though in comparison to the probably twenty loads of laundry that I did. And, guess what? I’m still not done.
Well, lovely people, that’s all I have for today. I hope you have a great weekend.
By the way, thank you for all your sweet thoughts about the loss of my kitty, Tucker. Your kindness really touched my heart.
xo Tricia

We just sold our cabin in the woods and have kicked ourselves everyday since…quick decisions are not good ones.
Glad you're enjoying the end of summer…I'd love to see your cabin in the fall.

Not much of a vacation with an orange tub and that much laundry. Thought the photo of your daughter on the dirt road was so special. She looked so tiny with such a big world around her. Enjoy your weekend, after the laundry is done!!

I'm one of the rare birds that likes to do laundry, but sheesh, 20 loads sounds a little daunting. Hope you got *some* rest. Love your photos, especially the way the light is falling in the last one…

Hello dear Tricia! Thank you for the sweet anniversary wishes. I finally bought Pixel to Plate, and now oh how I want a new prime lens! Isn't that the way life is?

Oh my how beautiful! I am in love with this setting and it reminds me in a way of where my Grandmother's lived in the mountains of Tennessee. I can almost smell the scents of the woods from down here! lol How far are you from the lake? Tricia, this is like a dream! I could live there and breathe in all that nature! There is something very magical about this.
Oh your daughter is hilarious! She must be very special to get the butterfly to land on her. That was so funny of her wanting to catch the fish with her hands. Loved her taking off down the road lol.
I am going to email you about the new template in just a bit.
Have a wonderful Labor Day!
