    This is Me

    01/24/2011 · by Tricia

Hello everyone!  I thought I would share a few little tidbits about myself today, thanks to three lovely ladies…Kristen from Just When You Thought, Laurie from Heaven’s Walk, and Priscila from Priscila Peters Decor.  I figured it would be best to just roll the whole thing into one post.

So, here are seven things about me:

    one

I have been a vegetarian since I was about eighteen.  Usually when someone finds this out, they ask two things “So, do you eat chicken?” and “Well, what about fish?”  That would be “no” on both counts.

    two

The top two places I would like to visit are France and Italy.  The best place that I have ever traveled to was Spain.  While I was there, it was my birthday and I had dinner at the palace of the king and queen.  I should add that it wasn’t with them…it was just with a big group of people I was traveling with.

    three

I have a degree in Psychology and I also went to law school for a while…a very short while.  I love reading and research and really wanted it to be the thing for me, it just wasn’t though…I’m more of a free-spirit.  My dad always feels the need to point out that he thinks I should go back and finish though…umm, I’ll pass. That chapter of my life is over.

    four

I have a soft spot for the show Little House on the Prairie.  I think it teaches good morals and each episode has a point to it.  Last year, when my son had a bit of a bad attitude, I decided that the only shows he could watch were things like Little House on the Prairie and Heidi.  I must say, that it did seem to help.

    five

Something I have always wanted and have never yet figured out is my perfect career.  I have always loved art and design and I’ve been wondering how I could meld these two things together.

    six

I have been known to occasionally drink copious amounts of Diet Coke and binge on sweets.  I like to think that this all stems from my childhood, where I was denied these things.  My mother never bought anything sweet, she didn’t even make chocolate chip cookies but made instead…CAROB chip cookies!  The horror of it is forever etched in my brain.  My mom isn’t like this anymore, so I don’t know what she was thinking at the time.

    seven

Someday, I would love, love, love to live someplace warm, and within walking distance to a beach.  I’m from Minnesota, so to me, that sounds like paradise.

Well, that’s it, hopefully, you made it to the end and weren’t too bored.  I know that part of awards and being tagged is to pass it along.  I’m going to be a rebel though and not do it.  Yeah, I’m kinda crazy like that sometimes.  I would, however, like to say a big thank you to everyone who follows me to see what I’m doing…I really appreciate it!  I’ve loved getting to know so many interesting and inspiring people.

    Best wishes ♥ Tricia

Congrats on the award, Tricia! You so deserve it… very stylish you are, girl! Loved getting to know you a little better. I LOVED Little House on the Prairie when I was little! I think I watched it from start to finish, and I cried when Michael Landon passed away… had some weird connection to him from watching that show growing up.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thanks for sharing a little about yourself. Little House on the Praire reminds me of my dad, he used to watch it everyday and probably still does. I have to agree with you on it being a wonderful show 🙂

Oh that was great! I loved reading more about you. Little House was always a fav for me. Mostly because I had the hots for Pa.

What do you mean you don't eat no meat? It's okay. I make lamb! 😉 (name that movie!)

      Hi Tricia!

Nice to find out more about you. I'm so with you on traveling to Italy or France. My husband has been to Spain, twice. Not fair! Love the lifestyle there. Taking the afternoon off to eat pasta would be right up my alley.

Love that you have a degree in Psychology. Very Cool!

      YOu're such a rebel 🙂

      Have a great night!

Oh Tricia, I love learning more about you! I'm so glad you put up this post. I LOVE Little House on the Prarie and still tear up over almost every episode because they are so touching. One of my favorite movies is the Heidi story.

I agree with you that you should find a way to meld your art and design together. It is so obvious that you are very gifted in both of these areas. I've seen some very amazing creations you've shown us here. Your blog is so stylish with every post. Really I am going to be asking you some decor and color advice, here in the near future when I get more time to redecorate.

      Have a wonderful week.

Oh Tricia, so cute, and fun, to learn more about you! I wish I could be a vegetarian. I have tried, but have to eat some meat (not a fan of steak or other read meats, though.) I mostly eat fish and chicken. And this is weird but I do not cook meat! I can't touch raw meat. I just buy it pre-cooked or order it out (or eat it when others have cooked it.) 😉
I love Little House, too! I would pour over the books when I was a child. I actually want to find a vintage set, I parted ways with mine at some point which I am bummed about (and don't remember doing….but I don't have them anymore.) I still catch re-runs of the show on T.V. There was one episode where Mary's baby dies in the fire. When the original episode aired, it was on past my bedtime but I snuck out of my room and hid in the hallway to watch it. Well it was a very traumatic episode and lets just say some little girl had many sleepless nights worrying about her house burning down! To this day I still worry about it, think it stuck with me, LOL!
      Have a happy week!

Bored? Not at all! It was fun learning more about you. Thanks for your post on my blog about my vegetarian dishes. While I'm not a total vegetarian, I do eat that way most of the time. More things we have in common…my mother withheld sweets and pop from me, too. I love baked goods, Reese peanut butter cups, and M&M's, but I haven't touched pop in about 15 years. Perfect career…lol, I haven't figured mine out yet either. I think I'd love to be an interior designer, but don't have the degree. And…hailing from northern IL, I desire to live in a warm climate by the beach, too. 🙂

I love learning these little tidbits about my blogging buddies! The "carob" thing was a holdover from the seventies and "healthy alternative" eating. I have grown children and still didn't know what I wanted to be when "I grew up." I think now blogging is what I love to do. Can that be counted, I wonder? Good for you on the vegetarian lifestyle. I've tried, but keep going back to fish and chicken.

So fun to get to know new things about you! Yuck to the carob. We never ever ever had Coke in the house as a kid. When I started college I drank a few because my roomies did and I was hooked after that. Glad they didn't smoke or I might have that habit too.

      about you, Tricia!
      Funny that your dad
      wants you to got back
      and finish the law degree.
      {Don't do it!} I didn't
      follow my heart's desire
      when I chose a major ~
      listened to my own practical
dad ~ and I regretted it.
Hardly any of my friends who
      have stopped working to stay
home with their kids say that
they would go back to the same
career that they had, so I
have to think that you and I
are not the only ones : ) Find
      your true dream…..and soar.
